METHODIST CHURCH

LADIES' GUILD MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Methodist Ladies' Guild was held at the Parsonage when Mrs G. S. Kings presided over a large attendance of members and friends. The Rev. H. S. Kings was present and assisted in the opening devotional exercises. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Cocker, Nielsen. Hancox, Jamieson, Elliott and Miller. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs Robert Miller, who gave a most interesting talk on the life and works of the world-famed Red Indian poetess. Pauline Johnston. It was decided to hold the next meeting at the residence of Mrs W. Nicol, Chapel Street. On this occasion grandmothers will be the guests of honour. During the afternoon two pianoforte solos were rendered by Miss Ivy Donald. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Madsen and Hendry. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs Miller. Miss Ivy Donald and to the hostesses.
