CHURCH SERVICES
A special national day of prayer services will be held at all Church of England centres tomorrow. Archdeacon Rich will be the preacher both morning and evening at St. Matthew’s Church and at Taueru in the afternoon. The Rev. T. V. Pearson will conduct the services at 7 p.m. at Kuripuni, and the Rev. V. W. Joblin at 7 p.m. at Upper Plain. Special national prayer services will be held at Knox Church, and at Tinui, Langdale and Kaituna tomorrow. These services afford an opportunity for all men and women of goodwill to meet together to invoke Divine guidance and blessing. At the Lansdowne Church tomorrow a service of public prayer will be held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and at Mauriceville West at 1.30 p.m., and Eketahuna at 3 p.m. The service at the Masterton Baptist Fellowship tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. Ayson Clifford, of Karori, and will conform to the King's request. A communion service will follow.
At the Methodist Churches in Masterton tomorow special services of intercession will be held.
In connection with the national day of prayer tomorrow, special prayer sessions will be held in the Salvation Army Citadel at 7 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tomorrow will be observed as a special day of prayer in all Catholic Churches in New Zealand. At St. Patrick's. Masterton. there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after 10.45 a.m. Mass to 7 p.m. The preacher at the Devotions tomorrow night will be Rev. Father Bailey of St. Bede's Church, Christchurch.
