ENTRY INTO INDOCHINA ANTICIPATED REPORTED SECRECY. TO FORESTALL CHINESE ACTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright> (Received This Day. 12.30 p.m.) SHANGHAI. September 6. The authorities understand that the Japanese have already entered or are on the point of catering Indo-China. An effort is being made at secrecy in order to forestall a Chinese counterinvasion. DENIAL IN TOKIO NO JAPANESE SOLDIERS IN INDO-CHINA. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) TOKIO. September 6. An Army spokesman denied that Japanese troops had entered Indo-China, “Excluding General Nishihara's inspection party,” he said, “there is not a single Japanese soldier in Indo-China, including Haiphong or elsewhere.” “NO CAUSE FOR ALARM” TOKIO COMMENT ON MR HULL'S STATEMENT. (Received This Day. 12.15 p.m.) ■ LONDON. September 6. The Associated .Press of Great Britain's Tok io correspondent says Mr Suma stated that the United States had no cause for alarm concerning the status quo of Indo-China. General Nishihara had been authorised to negotiate concerning peaceful processes. Mr Suma added that Japan was not replying to Mr Cordell Hull's statement on September 4. “The United States," he said, "seems to be taking a great deal of interest in Shanghai affairs. We don’t think them very important. The question should be settled locally." ANOTHER STORY PURSUIT OF “STRONG" POLICY. (Received This Day. 12.15 p.m.) TOKIO. September 6. The "Kokumin" stated that Prince Konoye. Messrs Katsuoka and Tojo and Admiral Oikawa have decided Io ignore foreign representation regarding Indo-China and to pursue a strong policy.
