HIGH OFFICIAL REMOVED RESPONSIBLE FOR ARREST OF ANTONESCU. MEASURES OF PRESS CONTROL. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright i (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 6. The Berlin News Agency stated that the Rumanian War Minister announced that General Morusoff, chief of the Army Intelligence Service, had been removed from his post. General Morusoff organised a special information service for King Carol and was held responsible for the recent arrest of General Antonescu. The News Agency also reports that General Antonescu has laid down rules for the guidance of the Press, stressing the urgency of strengthening Rumania's ties with Germany and Italy, “who have guaranteed the inviolability of her frontiers.” In dealing with Rumania's attitude to the Western Powers and to her immediate neighbours, there must be a strictly objective and limited reporting of news. MANY ARRESTS IRON GUARD DEMANDS. FOR PUNISHMENT OF EX-KING. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) BUDAPEST, September 6. Reports that ex-King Carol has been arrested are not confirmed, but coincide with reports that the Iron Guard is demanding that the ex-King snouiq ne pumsned tor the deaths of members of the Iron Guard. The secret police arrested two of Carol’s closest friends, Victor Amandi and Nicolao Malaxa. General Antonescu is reported to have ordered the arrest of Carol’s Lord Chamberlain, Ernest Urdeanu. King Michael, who took the oath before a microphone, later appeared at a window of the Palace, in response to the cheers of a crowd, who broke out into patriotic songs. Government circles state that dozens of arrests include that of M Tatarescu. It is learned that Queen Helene went to Dresden from Florence, resulting in General Antonescu telegraphing and urging her to take her place beside her son.
