DAY OF PRAYER

ON SUNDAY NEXT. In connection with the day of national prayer on Sunday, the president of the local Ministers' Association has issued the following statement: "His Majesty King George calls his people to 'prayer on Sunday, September 8. All churches should be filled if our minds are determined on victory. Cases where there was a favourable turn in events immediately following public prayer arc not wanting in British annals. It will hasten the day of peace, 'more things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.’ God is stronger than all the forces in the war; if He sees we are a people expecting His help and willing to keep His commandments God will not refuse out intercession. ‘Therefore let us come boldly unto the throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find Grace to help in time of need.'
