TIRAUMEA
ESCAPE FROM FIRE RESIDENT SUFFERS SEVERE CUTS ON HANDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr J. Reid, Tiraumea, had a fortunate escape on Sunday when his cottage caught fire. Mr Reid was able to escape through a window, cutting his hands severely in doing so. Personal. Mr R. Calton left yesterday for Pahiatua where he will enter the hospital for a slight operation. Early Spring. In this district spring is apparently about six weeks ahead of the usual time as kowhai and clematis arc to be seen in bloom.
