Refusing to divulge the movements of the traded destroyers, President Roosevelt's 'secretary (Mr Stephen Early) said: “Hitler can find out for himself when they leave and where they leave.” MANNING IN CANADA MOSTLY BY BRITISH CREWS. 1 (Received This Day 11.55 a.m.) OTTAWA, September 4. Unnamed Canadian ports will be the scene of the transfer of destroyers in the near future in the utmost secrecy. The Navy Minister, Mr MacDonald, said Canadians may man some of the vessels, but the majority will be manned by British skeleton crews.
