FASHION’S BREEZE

NEW COLOUR TEAM. A new colour team this spring is navy blue with black--for instance, a blue serge dress banded with black braid, very 1918. A springtime dress of plaster-white silk crepe has tiers of tucks for the bodice, and tiers of fringes flowing out below the waistline for the skirt.

Wear khaki with olive green—a green wool suit on dressmaker lines with a khaki felt hat and khaki buckskin shoes.

There is a whole yoke of black soutache braid on a spring coat of navy blue wool crepe. Schiaparelli’s black Persian lamb coat has huge pockets, dull black wood buttons, and a small doubled-under collar.

Through loops at the neck of her black crepe dress she pulls one of her latticed ties embroidered in gold. Huge muff pockets disttinguish one of the new printed silk dresses, and it has white pique touches at neck and wrists.

A black twill suit with the jacket slashed around the peplum has a white embroidered blouse.

Wear a pleated pink and green skirt of plaid wool with a dark green bolero and a white silk blouse.

Back on young heads are little skullcaps again—one in blue felt is threaded with a red polka-dotted scarf. Your blue-with-white-touches suit involves a basque dress of blue rayon crepe, under an Eton jacket faced with button-on white pique. For that wearable little navy blue wool, a jersey dress with a long jumper effect and a pleated skirt. It's perfect for weather that’s undecided.
