ENTERTAINMENT IN LONDON.

VISIT TO TOOLEY STREET.

(From the Official War Correspondent with the New Zealand. Forces in Great Britain). DARNBOROUGH (Hants), Aug. 31. Sir Alan Brooke. Commander-in-Chief of the Home Forces, today visited the New Zealanders and saw them engaged in their regular training. He was subsequently entertained at lunch by Major-General B. C. Freyberg, Commander of the New Zealand Forces overseas. Senior officers of the Expeditionary Forces were also present.

The brigade band, which played- to a large audience in Trafalgar Square on Thursday evening, was afterward entertained at dinner by the London County Council. The band is to play at the Royal Exchange at lunch time next Friday.

A large party of officers and men on London leave yesterday were the guests of Hay’s Wharf Limited for an inspection of Tooley Street and specially ihe facilities there for handling New Zealand dairy produce. The High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, was present, and at afternoon tea at the company's restaurant he returned thanks for the hospitality extended to the troops, the majority of whom were dairy producers.
