DRUIDS’ LODGE
BUSINESS AT FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Druids’ Lodge was held in the Foresters’ Hall last night, the A.D., Bro A. W. Hearle, presiding. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Bro J. R. Mason and to Bro G. Lang in the loss of his wife was passed, members standing in silence. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of sympathy to the relatives.
The secretary reported that 18 members had declared on the sick benefit of the lodge, and three brothers had declared off the funds. The brothers visiting the sick reported favourably., A report on the Friendly Societies’ card tournament with the Eketahuna Friendly Societies, held on Saturday, was received by the lodge. The social committee was instructed to draw up a programme for the next quarter. The A.D. commented favourably on the good attendance of brethren present and hoped they would continue their interest in the lodge. One friend was proposed for membership and accepted. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £166 5s were passed. At the conclusion of lodge business the members were entertained at supper and indoor bowls.
