ACCORDING TO GERMANY. SOME FANTASTIC FIGURES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, August 31. It is authoritatively stated in Berlin that during the first, year of war the German Army lost 39.000 men killed, 143,000 wounded and 24,000 missing. The air force lost 1050 planes and the enemy lost 6950 planes and 153 barrage balloons. German bombers carried out more than 3500 raids, dropping 5,000,000 bombs. More than 500 enemy warships and merchantmen, totalling over 2,000,000 tons, were sunk, and 700 warships and merchantmen were damaged. Germany destroyed over 400 enemy tanks.
