CHINESE PUPPET REGIME & JAPAN
AGREEMENT REPORTED.
EARLY SIGNATURE EXPECTED

The Domei News Agency's Nanking ; correspondent reports that the Nanking leader, Mr Wang Ching-wei, and the Japanese Ambassador. General Abe, formally acknowledged the termination of the treaty negotiations. The Councillor to the Embassy, Mr Tohiichi Matsumoto, is flying to Tokio on Sunday formally to present the draft treaty for approval.
It is said the treaty is based on the three principles of Prince Konoye’s statement —good neighbourliness, join) defence against Communism and economic co-operation. The treaty is expected to be initialled early in September and signed early in October, after which Japan's formal recognition of the Nanking regime will be quickly followed by Italy and other anti-Comintern States.
