WEEKEND CONTESTS MAHUNGA CLUB. FIRST ROUND OF LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. The following first round matches in connection with the championships were completed on Saturday:—Mrs Hunn beat Mrs. Hendry, 4/3; Miss Smith beat Miss Holtham. 5/3; Miss Samson beat Miss Johnson, 1 up; Mrs Turner beat Mrs Musgrove, 5/3; Miss Kitchener beat Mrs Eaton, 3/2; "Miss Yates beat Miss Rudd, 1 up. The semi-finals for the Mills' Cur; were also completed at the weekend, the results being as follows: —Miss Polson beat Miss Samson. 5//4; Miss Calwell beat Mrs Claridge, 2/1. MEN’S COMPETITIONS.
The first round of the men’s championship was played on Saturday, th.e results being as follow: —Senior: K. McFarlane beat J. Corbishley; G. V. Greer beat D. A. Hunn; R. B. McPherson beat W. J. Boyce; I. McFarlane beat J. Norrie; W. W. Hendry beat A. O. Jones. Intermediate: N. Bach beat R. F. Buick: C. A. Carrig beat J. W. T. Jones; W. G. Rew beat C Sutherland; V. E. Burridge beat G. T. Wagg; J. Morris beat J. G. McFarlane. Juniors: W. Taylor beat J. P. Farrell; A. McCalmont beat G. B. Young; H. J. Miller beat W. J. S. Musgrove; F. Traynor beat Rex Riley. Bogey round: The best cards returned by members not competing in matches were: J. W. T. Jones all square, W. Taylor all square, M. C. Armstrong 1 down, R. B. Hendry 1 down. G. R. Turner 2 down.
