BUSH v TE KAWA. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Bush Basketball Association’s representative team will play Te Kawa at the Pahiatua Drill Hall on Monday evening. ■ The sole selector, Miss R. Peebles, has chcsen the following play’ers to represent Bush: —Goal, Misses J. Sowry, M. Mabey, N. Miller; centre, Misses J. Henry, N. Squires, N. Hewitt; defence, Misses K. O’Brien, P. Brabner, B. Paget; emergencies, Misses D. Burlace, N. Gunn and N. Etz. As a curtain-raiser to the main game, the B. and C. Bush representative teams will meet. The B team is as follows: —Misses D. Burlace, R. Kershaw, N. Humphrey, F. Reeve, N. Murch, N. Gunn, E. Rutherford, Mrs Taylor, Miss V. Etz. Emergencies, Misses M. Lovell, M. Carmine, J. Ryan. The C team will be Misses E. Waterrens, T. Jensen, J. Mabey, J. Watson, N. Targett, N. Harrington, S. Hayes, I. Dougherty and M. Wenham. Emergencies, Misses P. Bush, B. Stone, and V. Webb. The week’s matches resulted as follows:—Stars A 27, Stars B 7; Eketahuna 21, Hamua 10; Konini B 15, Hukanui 11; Konini A 30, United 16. Milk Fever Among Cows. The Bush district stock inspector, Mr Kinghorne, is at present investigating reports that eclampsia, a form of milk fever, is prevalent in the Mangamaire district. It is believed that already quite a number of deaths in dairy herds have occurred, one farmer, it is believed, having lost seven cows to date. Personal Items. Mrs H. Burch, Alfredton, is visiting her sister, Mrs A. Hansen, Stanley Street.
Mr T. Metcalfe, Wanganui, has returned home after paying a visit to his parents, Mr and Mrs J. Metcalfe, Church Street.
