CHURCH SERVICES
The Holy Communion will be celebrated at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow. The Rev. T. V. Pearson will be the preacher at 11 a.m., and the Rev. V. W. Joblin at 7 p.m. The afternoon service at Taueru will be conducted by the Rev. V. W. Joblin, and the evening service at Kuripuni by the Rev. T. V. Pearson. “Why God Does Not Answer Prayer” will be the subject at Knox Church tomorrow morning, while at the evening service the Very Rev. Geo. McNeur, the pioneer missionary to Canton villages. will speak on “In China, Opposition Makes Opportunity.” The services at Te Whiti and Westmere tomorrow and on Thursday at Solway will be conducted by the Rev. John Davie. The Bible Class Group will be responsible for the service at Matahiwi. The Very Rev. G. H. McNeur and Mrs McNeur are visitors to Masterton for the week-end. Mr McNeur will speak in the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 11 a.m. and at Knox Church at 7 p.m. He will also speak in the Opera House on Monday at 8 p.m. on “China, New Zealand’s Neighbour.” Mrs McNeur will conduct mission talks in Eketahuna on Monday at 2.30, and in the Lansdowne Church Hall on Tuesday, at 2.30 p.m, Services will be conducted on behalf of the Baptist Fellowship of Masterton on Sunday morning by Mr D. Petrie, and on Tuesday evening by Rev. E. Batts, of Lower Hutt. The services at the Salvation Army Hall tomorrow will be conducted by Major Armstrong. There will be an enrolment service in the morning. A memorial service in memory of the late Mrs. Adderson will be conducted by the major in the evening.
At the Methodist Church tomorrow, the morning service will oe conducted by the Rev. R. W. Mayson, 8.A., of Greytown. Mr. Mayson was for some time the travelling secretary of the Young Men’s Bible Class Union. The evening service will conclude with the commemoration of the Lord's Supper. The Rev. H. S. Kings will speak on “Secret Discipleship.” The evening service at Kuripuni will be conducted by the Masterton Mission Band under the leadership of Mr. A. Griggs.
