PETROL RATIONING

COUPONS FOR SEPTEMBER. MAY BE USED TOMORROW. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. An announcement that petrol coupons numbered 8 and 9 would be available for motorists during September was made last evening by the Minister of Supply, Mr Sullivan. The Minister also stated that as the first day of September was a Sunday and as many of the petrol stations would, under the new closing hours regulations, be closed on that day, the coupons for September would be accepted as from tomorrow, August 31. This was being done in order to obviate inconvenience to the motoring public.
