NEW CHIEF OF STAFF APPOINTED MARCH OVER BLUE MOUNTAINS ENDED. ROYAL SHOW TO BE HELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 12.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The A.I.F. march over the Blue Mountains ended yesterday, with the arrival of the last brigade at Bathhurst Camp. The Minister of the Army. Senator Mcßride, said the troops would be transferred temporarily from the Sydney Showground next year to enable the Royal Show to be held. A Melbourne message states that Major-General V. A. H. Sturdee has been appointed Chief of the Australian General Staff, in succession to the late Sir Brudenell White. Mr Menzies (Federal Prime Minister) will announce the terms of the appointment today.
