The lady members of the local Golf Club played an eclectic competition on the Gum Grove links yesterday afternoon. the result being: Mrs McCarty 1 Miss J. Ruane 2. Miss M. Ruane 3. Personal Items. Mrs Ninnes. Miss P. Fowcett, Mr J. Fowcett, Mr J. Culley (Lower Hutt), Miss Maloney and Miss Shirley Mahoney (Wellington) are the guests of Mrs C. C. Corlet, Pahautea. Mr H. Lawson (president) and Mr N. C. C. Shepherd (secretary) left yesterday for Auckland to attend the Automobile Association's conference. Captain and Mrs D. Todd, and Miss Todd, Mrs and Miss Mason (Wellington), are the guests of Mrs L. McKenna. Sapper W. Bargh is in hospital suffering from an attack of measles. Mrs J. Juno (Pahautea) left for Tauranga yesterday where she will spend a holiday. Table Tennis. . The Pahautea Table Tennis Club’s combined doubles competition resulted in Miss M. Bargh and Mr J. Cross winning the prizes.
