BOWLING CLUB LADIES BRANCH MAY BE FORMED (“Times-Age” Special.) With the early approach of the bowling season many clubs in the Wairarapa have held their annual meetings. The Carterton Club's meeting will be held in the very near future, when it is anticipated a ladies’ branch will be formed. Already it is understood a number of ladies have handed in their names for membership. The croquet lawn is'to be used as a bowlmg green, and has been treated and top dressed. CARD PARTY The weekly card party held last night in conjunction with the Boy Scout movement for patriotic purposes drew a large attendance. The prizes were won as follow:—Ladies. Mrs J. Brown 1. Mrs Page 2; men, Mr H, Rollings 1. Mrs A. Thompson 2. The aggregate prize for the ladies ended in a tie between Mrs A. Thompson and Mrs F. O'Keefe. In the men’s section the prize went to Mr P. Hodder. GUARANTEED PRICE DAIRY COMPANY RESOLUTION. At. the annual meeting of the Bidwill Co-op Dairy Co Ltd held yesterday the following resolution was passed:— “The shareholders of this company desire to draw attention to the fact that the farmer is entitled to an increase in the guaranteed price to cover the increasing costs.” Milk Supply to Factories. Milk received at the various cheese factories in the Carterton district has increased considerably during the past week, and the larger factories are running three to four vats. The mild weather and increase in the growth of is chiefly responsible for the incfcjsed supply of milk. Personal Items. Mr A. V. Tunnicliffe, of Whakarewarewa, Rotorua, who has been on a visit to Dalefleld, returned to his home this morning.

Mrs W. E. Knowles, of Carterton, who is visiting Wellington, will return home at the weekend. Miss Phyllis Trapp, who has been on a visit to Sydney has returned to 'Carterton. Mrs E. M. Gayfer, of Rhodes Street, left this morning en route for Blenheim where she will spend a holiday. Football Club Dance. The committee of the Carterton Football Club is determined to make the championship dance, which will be held in the King’s Theatre on Monday. September 9, one of the most outstanding events in the history of the club, and a fitting celebration of the winning of the senior and junior championships this year. The presentations of trophies will take place at the ball.
