FIRE BRIGADE BALL AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. (•■Time-Age” Special.) The Fire Brigade’s annual ball was held in the Town Hall on Monday night and was an outstanding success. The attendance was a record, and visitors present from Palmerston North, Woodville. Dannevirke. Pahiatua. Masterton and Carterton. So great was the crowd that the floor space was severely taxed and dancing at times was most difficult. This, however, did not deter patrons from enjoying themselves to the full. Mr Jack Barnes's dance band provided the music. The supper extras were provided by the local orchestra. The M.'cC. were Messrs H. Rogers and F. West. The Brigade's ladies’ committee had charge of the supper. The supper room was tastefully decorated. The cake competition held in conjunction with the Fire Brigade Ball was won by Miss Dickason (Masterton). Personal Items. Miss M. O'Connell. Palmerston North, is visiting her sister, Mrs B. Dinnan. Anderson Street. Mrs J. Carter (Lower Hutt) is the guest of her sister, Mrs R. Gallagher. The death has occurred in Auckland of Mr Alex Wilson, a brother of the late Mr W. M. Wilson, of Eketahuna. The late Mr Alex Wilson was a director of Leightons Ltd. Auckland. He leaves a wife and two sons. Miss M. Wilson, of Eketahuna, is the guest of Miss Stephens, Greytown.
