COURSING
PATRIOTIC MEETING NEXT SATURDAY. CONCLUSION OF SEASON. On Saturday the Wairarapa Coursing Club will conduct the final meeting of the season at Akura Plumpton. The executive has decided to donate the whole of the gate takings to patriotic purposes. In an endeavour to make the meeting a success the free list has been suspended and officials and members will be charged half price. It is hoped that a good attendance will be forthcoming from supporters to help the worthy objective in view. Given suitable weather conditions on Saturday, good coursing is assured. Two stakes are to be decided and competition will be keen. Mr G. A. Vincent, of Carterton, has donated a trophy for one event, and it is anticipated that another supporter will do likewise. The coursing is timed to commence at 1.45 p.m.
A free bus will leave the Post Office at 1.30 p.m. for the plumpton. Afternoon tea will be obtainible on the grounds.
