VALUES IRREGULAR

DUNEDIN, August 27. There was a good attendance at today's rabbitskin auction of approximately 51 tons. Competition was fairly good for all descriptions, but values were inclined to be a little irregular. The quality of skins now forward is rapidly deteriorating, and this must be taken into consideration when assessing rates obtained yesterday. Exporters purchased a good proportion of the catalogues, with New Zealand manufacturers taking lots suitable for their requirements.
As compared with last sale's quotations, buck on the average receded 3d to 9d, while does were about 3d lower, Hatters and low grades sold at Id _o 2d cheaper. First bucks sold to llld, second bucks. 109 d, spotted bucks 87d first does 85d„ spotted does 74d„ furrier does 74d.
