ALFREDTON

HECKLER CUP NO MATCH THIS SEASON. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting was held at the Recreation Grounds over the weekend to discuss the challenge received from the Tiraumea Football Club for the Heckler Cup. It was eventually decided That as a mark of respect to the donor of the cup (the late Mr Wm. Heckler) the challenge be held over for 12 months. It was further decided that a friendly game be played on August 31 at the Recreation Ground between the Tiraumea team and a local team, and that a collection be made for patriotic purposes. Messrs J. B. Smith, R. Low and G. Higginson were appointed to select a team and to prepare the grounds. At the conclusion of the meeting a working bee commenced the preparation of the ground. . Personal. Mrs E. Hutchings left today for Levin.
