OBITUARY
MRS G. A. OLLIVER. The death occurred yesterday afternoon of Mrs Martha Jane Olliver, wife of Mr G. A. Olliver, of Masterton, at the age of 75 years. The late Mrs Olliver had been in ill health for some time past. She came to New Zealand about 60 years ago and for a short period lived at Pahiatua before taking up her residence in Masterton. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Messrs G. Olliver (Hutt) and E. J. Olliver (Papawai). and two daughters, Mrs J. A. Russell (Masterton) and Miss E. Olliver (Masterton). There are 15 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. The funeral took place this afternoon.. MR J. R. MASON. The death occurred suddenly yesterday of Mr John Ridley Mason, proprietor of the Railway Hotel, Masterton. The late Mr Mason, who was born on July 4, 1873. at Pine Valley. Blenheim, was a well known resident of the Wairarapa for over 40 years. He followed farming for a number of years and for a period of 21 years was employed by Messrs R. and F. Gray, Taratahi. He also worked for Mr G. R. Sykes, at Upper Plain. The late Mr Mason is survived by a widow and .four daughters. The daughters are Mesdames G. Clapperton (Wanganui), J. Baird (New Plymouth), L. J. Brown (Masterton) and I. Kenavan (Wellington) to whom the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended. Two brothers and four sisters are also left to mourn their loss.
The funeral took place at Masterton today.
