GOOD DAY’S WORK
HEALTH AND OTHER BILLS. DEALT WITH BY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Consideration of the Health Amendment Bill occupied the House of Representatives for the greater part of yesterday afternoon. The Minister of Health, Mr Armstrong, said that the Health Department had been working for 20 years on the old statute and that any amendments required had been made by means of regulations. These amendments were now being embodied in statute form. There was general approval of the Bill, which was passed.
The Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill and two local Bills were also passed. A Statutes Amendment Bill containing miscellaneous alterations to existing laws was introduced, read a iecond time pro forma and referred to the Statutes Amendment Committee. The Prime Minster. Mr Fraser, was obviously pleased with the progress made, and before the adjournment was taken at 4.50 p.m. till Wednesday afternoon he said the House had done a very good day's work.
