PATRIOTIC DANCE WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The winners of the various competitions held at the recent patriotic dance were Mrs McKenzie and Miss McNaughton’, Messrs J. Riwai and Kitney. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Sutton and Mr Frank Busch and the lucky spot by the Misses Lovegrove. The dinner was won by Miss Sutton and the guinea prize by Mr F. White. Both prizes were generously re-donated to the fund by the winners. The secretary of the local patriotic committee desires to acknowledge with thanks the following donations to the fund: Mr D. Warren £2. Dr W. Charters 10s, Mr F. Seaward 10s. Mrs T. Hume ss. The proceeds from the dance realised a most satisfactory amount.

LOWER VALLEY DAIRY CO. DIRECTORS ELECTED. The Lower Valley Dairy Company held its annual meeting of shareholders on Monday. The following were elected to the directorate: Messrs Campbell Smith (chairman). A. Linton. D. S. Sutherland, J. Jamieson, K. S. McMaster and A. Weatherston. Flounders Plentiful. Flounders are fairly plentiful at the Lake Ferry. Big Slip. A landslide, as a result of the recent rain, occurred on the Cape Palliser Road last week and completely blocked the thoroughfare. The road is now clear. Winner of Golf Competition. Mr S. Thomas was the winner of the stableford competition held on the closing day of the local golf club. Personal Items. Mrs Longman, Lake Ferry, is visiting her parents. Mr and Mrs E. Bills, Foxton. Mr and Mrs Trevor Hume were recent visitors to Trentham. Mr and Mrs A. Simcow returned to Fcilding on Monday. Mr lan Tilson, who has not been in the best of health, has again entered hospital and will undergo a minor operation. Mr C. Hodder, who leased his dairy farm at Tuhitarata to Mr Garrett some eighteen months ago. will take possession of it at. the end of the month. Mr Garrett has purchased a farm in the Kahutara district.
