MASTERTON SALE
GOOD VALUES RECORDED.
The Associated Auctioneers report on their weekly Masterton sale as follows—A fairly good yarding of sheep came forward and we have to report a particularly good sale. Fat and store sheep also showed a sharp rise, and prices were easily the best of the year so far. Butchers were very keen and paid big prices, the best wethers making £2 4s and ewes 38s. Licht weights also made good values. Store sheep were in demand, especially ewe hoggets. Following are the principal sales A/c. Miller Estate, ewe hoggets 40s; a/c. Laing Bros. 1 , ewe hoggets. 32s 9d. other prices as under ' (medium), ewe hoggets. 26s to 27s 6d, small ewe hoggets 22s 6d. wether hoggets (good). 22s 6d to 235; medium ditto. 18s 6d to 20s; ewes r.w. Southdown (good). 295, f.m. 23s 9d: fat ewes (heavy). 35s to 38s; medium. 29s 6d to 31s; light, 23s Cd to 24s 8d; fat wethers (good), £2 to £2 4s; medium 32s 6d to 375; light 30s fat hoggets. 27s 3d to 28s 6d, light 23s to 265.
Horses: A/c. C. McDonald. Canterbury, draught mare and geldings, broken all work, £25, £27 10s. £33. to £37; aged lighter sorts, broken all work, £lB to £22 10s; light harness horses, ,£l5 to £l7.
