PRESSURE ON GREECE

REPORTED AXIS DEMAND RENUNCIATION OF BRITISH GUARANTEE. GENERAL METAXAS STANDS FIRM. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, August 14. High diplomatic quarters in Athens say General Metaxas has rejected the suggestion. A Rome message says authoritative circles denied reports that Italy intends to make territorial demands on Greece and Yugoslavia. These sources emphasised, however, that “Italy has taken a grave view” and again alleged that the Albanian subject, Daul Hoggia, was murdered by Greeks. TALKS IN MOSCOW LONDON, August 14.
