MANILA, August 10.
The Assembly passed the Emergency Powers Bill, granting President Quezon the control virtually of every branch of public and’ private enterprise to arbitrarily distribute all labour, sequester private property, take over industry to ensure continued production, and regulate rents and prices. Violations are punishable by 10 years' imprisonment.
