KOPUARANGA
SETTLERS’ BALL AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS (“Times-Age” Special.) The Kopuaranga Settlers’ Fifth annual ball was held in the Kopuaranga Hall on Wednesday night when visitors from all parts of the Wairarapa attended to make the gathering one of the most successful yet held. Several members of the N.Z. military forces were present as guests. An apology for absence was received from Mr J. Robertson, M.P., and Mrs Robertson. The music was supplied by Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys and Messrs Jarrett and Fenemore carried out the duties of M.’sC.
Novelty dances were enjoyed by the large crowd. Supper was provided by the ladies of the district. The Red Cross fund for normal activities will benefit considerably from the effort.
Mrs S. J. Clarke was secretary, assisted by an energetic committee, and thanks are expressed to Mrs E. J. Wright and the many helpers for their willing assistance.
