PATRIOTIC FUND

COST OF ADMINISTRATION. STATE CONTRIBUTION. Salaries and office expenses, with the exception of office equipment and other realisable assets, in connection with the administration of the National Patriotic Fund are being borne by the Government. This was announced yesterday afternoon by Mr G. A. Hayden. secretary of the National Patriotic Fund Board, after a meeting of the board’s standing committee. Mr Hayden said the matter had been before the committee in the form of a letter from the Department of Internal Affairs. Office equipment and other realisable assets were to be a charge on the National Fund. All other expenses for the office and salaries were being met by the Government.

The meeting, over which thcra Go-vernor-General, Lord Galway, presided, approved of the erection of a Y.M.C.A. recreation hut at North Head, Auckland, and also the erection of a Church of England hut at Narrow Neck, Auckland.

A sum of £2OO was passed for the completion of the Air Force bands in the Dominion.
