CHURCH OF EPIPHANY

LADIES’ GUILD. PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES. The Church of the Epiphany Ladies’ Guild, with their friends, have been very busy this winter. The members have been meeting fortnightly for a Patriotic Knitting Circle and have also been making garments for the garden party in November. They have been meeting on Thursday afternoons at the homes of the various members. Those ladies who have been hostesses include Mesdames F. Whitton. C. Braggins, H. M. Boddington. A. L. Hibbs, A. T. Jackson. W. Henson. C. Jackson, Donald Duncan, L. Adams, W. Thomas, W. Richter, W. Dalrymple. Senr.. Misses Boddington. M. Carter.

In June the following articles were handed in to the Patriotic Fund, having been made with wool which had been supplied: 2G scarves. 14 pairs of mittens, 40 hussifs. 1 balaclava. Besides that the Guild donated G pairs of mittens. In July the members made the following articles: 10 scarves, 3 pairs mittens; this month they donated 7 pairs mittens and 1 scarf.' So far this month the Guild has handed in to the Fund the following: 7 pullovers, 9 pairs mittens, with more to follow At a meeting of the Guild held yesterday at the home of Mrs W. Dalrymple. Senr., arrangements were made for holding a church social on Tuesday. August 27, in the Epiphany Hall. Fourteen members of the Guild were present and an enjoyable time was spent.
