WEDDING

COSTELLO—KENNY. A very pretty wedding took place recently at St. Patrick's Church. Masterton. the contracting parties being May Victoria, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Kenny, of Kopuaranga. and John Henry, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr R. Costello, of Lansdowne. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father Moore. The wedding music was excellently rendered by Miss M. Nee. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming gown of creme satin lace. The satin bodice had a Vandyke point lace yoke, being fastened at the back from neck to waist with tiny satin loops and buttons. The Peter Pan collar was finished with a spray of orange blossom. The fullyflared satin skirt had a godet of lace inserted in the front and fell into a long train at the back. Full puffed sleeves of satin and lace fitted tightly from elbow to wrist finishing with a point over the hand. The beautiful embroidered tulle veil was caught io her head with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of creme chrysanthemums. cyclamen, roses and jonquils with maidenhair fern and birch. The bride was attended by her three sisters, Misses Jean (chief), Betty and Dulcie Kenny, who wore taffeta frocks of mauve, green and apricot, respectively. Their frocks were cut on slimming lines, with flared skirts trimmed with a circle of frilling and flowers. The bodices were made with a bolero effect featuring rucking in the front. The back of the frocks were trimmed with small taffeta buttons, the heart shaped necklines being finished with a narrow frill. The short sleeves were fully puffed. They wore pleated tulle halos trimmed with a spray of flowers to tone, long elbow length mittens completed their attire. Their bouquets were of mauve chrysanthemums, nirenes and cyclamen with maidenhair fern, each being tied with satin ribbons to match the frock. The little flower girl. Margaret Costello. wore a blue taffeta frock cut on similar lines as the bridesmaids, she also wore a halo and carried a blue taffeta muff trimmed with flowers and satin streamers. Mr George Costello, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. On leaving the church she was presented with a silver horseshoe by Gabrielle Watson, neice of the bridegroom. The reception was held in the Savage Club rooms, where the guests were received by Mrs Kenny, who wore a navy frock and coat with matching accessories and a shoulder spray of pink carnations fastened in her fur, she was assisted by Mrs Costello who also wore a navy frock, she wore a shoulder snray of deep pink cyclamens. ' Later Mr and Mrs Costello travelled north, leaving amid showers of confetti and the good wishes of their friends, the bride wearing a coral pink ensemble with navy accessories. In the evening a most enjoyable dance was held in the Kopuaranga Hall.
