ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
CADET DIVISION DANCE. AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. The capacity of the Masonic Hall was severely taxed on Saturday night when the Cadet Division of the St. John Ambulance held a dance in aid of the local uniform funds. There was a large attendance of members of the military forces and all spent a thoroughly enjoyable time, the gathering being an outstanding success. The music was supplied by Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys and Mr C. 3. McQuade (Cadet Superintendent) carried out the duties of M.C. Extras were played by Private Simpson and Messrs N. Rippon and N. Churchouse. Monte Carlo waltz competitions were won by Miss M. Gillespie and Mr E. Talbot and Miss W. Cooper and Private R. A. McPhail. Supper was served by a capable committee. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem brought the dance to a close. Flight-Rigger J. Swain (formerly a cadet officer) and Private McPhail, who have taken an active part in the affairs of the cadet division, were present as guests.
