GARDEN CIRCLE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Garden Circle was held on Friday afternoon at the residence of Mrs J. Yates, there being a good attendance. A very pleasant time was spent discussing the growth of plants, and in exchanging plants. In the competitions the winners were —Best rose. Mrs Williamson; best shrub, Mrs Cotter; best cut bloom. Mrs Boyd. GOLF LADIES’ MEDAL COMPETITION. The best cards handed in by members of the Martinborough Ladies’ Club for the L.G.U. medals on Saturday were: —Mrs Griffiths 101-27-74. Grant 3. GIRL GUIDES ANNUAL MEETING. The annual' meeting of the Girl Guides was held in the Plunket Rooms on Friday afternoon. Mrs A. C. Caseley presided over an excellent attendance of members and parents. The report and balance sheet showed a satisfactory position after a busy year. Reports by Guider Wilson and Brown Owl Blundell proved most interesting in the review of the year's work, and a vote of thanks was accorded to them. The officers elected for the year were: —President, Mrs H. L. Griffiths: secretary, Miss McNally; Committee, Mesdames Kershaw, Pain, Blundell, Hewitt, Tyer, Caseley. W. B. Martin, Mason, D. Cameron, Boyd, Sadd and Miss M. C. Martin; Delegates to Centre, Mesdames Griffiths, Kershaw, W. B. Martin, and Sadd.
