SITUATION IN INDIA NOT APPRECIATED. ACCORDING TO MR GANDHI. ‘ (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day. 10.25 a.m.) BOMBAY. August 4. Mr Gandhi said Mr Amery had shown a want of appreciation of the gravity of the situation in India and had grievously under-rated the restraint of Congress in postponing civil disobedience. There was a growing suspicion that the British were taking advantage of this restraint in order to crush Congress.
