ATTACKS ON AERODROMES & OIL DEPOTS IN GERMANY AND OCCUPIED AREAS. HEAVY ATTACK ON KIEL NAVAL BASE. An Air Ministry communique transmitted by Daventry reports further exploits by bombers of the R.A.F. Attacks were made on aerodromes occupied by the enemy in Holland and France. During Saturday night attacks were made on oil tanks at Rotterdam, oil plants in the Ruhr and Rhineland, aerodromes in Holland and Western Germany and railway communications in Germany. A heavy attack was also made on the naval base at Kiel. From all these operations three British machines have failed to return. AIR MINISTRY REPORT LITTLE DAMAGE AND FEW CASUALTIES. LONDON, August 3. The Air Ministry reports that during last night, enemy aircraft bombed the north-east of Scotland, the Midlands, the south-east of England, and the Bristol Channel area. There was some damage in the latter area and a few minor casualties. A low-flying plane today dropped four high-explosive bombs on holdings in the north-east of Scotland and damaged poultry houses. Fifty incendiary bombs and two high-explosive bombs were dropped in south-east England, and all fell in open country except one, which destroyed a cottage. Many incendiary bombs were dropped in a Welsh coastal town, where there were a few casualties but no serious damage resulted. LATEST ATTACKS NO DAMAGE OR CASUALTIES. LONDON, August 4. Enemy activity last night was mainly confined to the Thames Estuary and the Scottish east coast. Bombs were dropped at a number of points in these areas and also in Wales, but no damage and no casualties are reported. On Saturday night, Daventry reports, German planes attacked areas in the Thames Estuary and the east coast of Scotland. Bombs were also dropped in Wales. No casualties are reported.
