BOWLING CLUB ANNUAL REPORT. ("Times-Age” Special.) In the report of the Martinborougl Bowling Club to be presented at the annual meeting on Monday it is .staler that during the off season the greet had been much improved. It has beei heavily top-dressed, seeded and man ured, and the banks have been bull up. A new mower had been procured. The green should be in excellen order in the coming season. Thank: were expressed to the soldier member, of the club and Messrs Jacobsen anr J. Larsen for the gift of perpetual chai lenge cups. Club championships am competitions were won as follows:--Boyd Cup and champion singles: C M. Ross. Champion pairs: C. M. Ros: and D. J. Green. Communty cup: S Martin and J. Larsen. Larsen and Jacobsen Cup: J. Larsen. Champion rink T. H. Smith, D. C. Pryor. J. Jenkin, and W. J. Knell. SCHOOL ASSOCIATION ENJOYABLE SOCIAL. The second of a series of social.' held under the auspices of the Bonn and School Association took place lasi evening, when there was a good attendance. The object of these gatherings is to foster a closer relationship between teachers and parents and co-op-eration in the training of children. Mr D. C. Pryor addressed those present. taking for his subject "Habits." In this he differentiated between good and bad habits, and urged a wise encouragement of the former. In particular he stressed the formation of good habits in the home environment which was an important factor in fitting the child for school and after life. The serving of supper brought an instructive gathering to a close. Rainfall for July. The rainfall in July totalled 2.79 inches. The heaviest fall was on July 3. when 1.02 inches were recorded. Personal. Mr R. J. Wright, who is to enter the Air Force at Harewood, left Martinborough today. Prior to his departure he was entertained by the Fire Brigade. of which he has been a member for several years, and presented with handsome and useful gifts. The Radio Club, of which he was president, also made parting gifts to him. and the stall' and proprietor of the Town Hall Pictures, where Mr Wright had been operator, also made a presentation and wished him success in his new career. Loan to Government. The Martinborough Miniature Rifle Club, which has been forced to go into recess for the season on account of being unable to procure ammunition has loaned £25 to the Government free of interest for the duration of the war.
