EKETAHUNA

WOMEN’S DIVISION MEETING OF LOCAL BRANCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union held in the Anglican schoolroom, the president. Mrs C. Welch, presided over a good attendance of members. The executive discussed minor matters prior to the general meeting at 1 p.m. and arrangements for the branch’s eighth birthday party to be held on August 15 were finalised. The speaker on this occasion will be Mrs Paterson, of Pahiatua. An invitation to be present has been extended to the members of all neighbouring branches. Mrs T. Hancock read a W.E.A. lecture on “Madame Curie." and this was greatly appreciated by the members. Mrs Murray Morris exhibited i child’s frock made from an old shirt, this being the object of much favourable comment. Mesdames S. Smith and T. Hancock were responsible for the decorating of the room. It was announced that a Division housekeeper was at present employed in the district. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Connor and Manser. Personal Items. Mrs Adkins, Palmerston North, is at present visiting her brother, Mr F. Olsen. Miss Mcßae, of Napier, is the guest of Mrs A. E. Brittain, Central Road.
