PLUNKET MEETING NURSE’S REPORT FOR MONTH. (“Times-Age” Special.) I The monthly meeting of the Plunket I Committee was presided over by Mrs ■ G. S. Sharp yesterday afternoon. > Apologies for absence were received • from Mesdames Q. Donald, J. G. Mcl Kenzie, G. Yule, H. R. Bloxam, E. M. ■ Wakely. Arch. Clark, M. C. Turner, J. I Willett, R. N. Barton, J. G. Donald, N. C. C. Shepherd and A. R. Robbins. The credit balance at the Bank of New Zealand and Post Office Savings Bank was reported as being £'663 0s sd. Accounts amounting to £2 18s Id were passed for payment. The nurse’s report for the month is as follows: —Cases on the books since work began, 892; babies under supervision, 79; pre-school children, 35; new cases for month, 9. Analysis of feeding: Naturally fed, 7; artificially fed, 2. Visits to homes: Old cases. 52; new cases, 9. Visits to rooms: Adults, 86; babies. 86; children, 5. Districts visited: South Featherston, Featherston, Western Lake, Cross Creek Road. Pukio, Pihautea, Kahutara, Dyerville. Otaraia, Lower Valley, Pirinoa and Tawaha. ' It was reported that since last meeting the Society had purchased a new car. It was decided that during the petrol restrictions the matter of calling meetings every other month be left in the hands of Mrs Q. Donald. Rainfall. There were 19 wet days in July, the total fall being 4.80 inches. The maximum fall was 1.12 inches on July 4. In July, 1939, 11.33 inches were registered. Vital Statistics. In July there were 7 births and 4 deaths registered in Featherston. There were no marriages. School Contests. Football and basketball teams from the Kahutara ' School visited Featherston yesterday and played the primary school teams. The result was a win for Featherston in both games. Featherston won the football by 22 points to nil, and the basketball by 17 —13. Presentation to Mr Nix. On Wednesday night members of the local Miniature and Defence Rifle Clubs journeyed to the residence of Mr W. Nix. when a very enjoyable time was spent. During the evening, Mr W. Johnston, on behalf of the combined clubs, presented Mr Nix, who was recently married, with a dinner wagon, accompanied by the best wishes of the I members. His health was drunk with musical honours. Mr Nix suitably replied.
