RECENT CLOTHES DRIVE

FIRST CONSIGNMENT SENT TO WELLINGTON. HEADQUARTERS’ APPRECIATION. An expression of thanks to the Mayoress, Mrs T. Jordan and members of the Masterton branch of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild has been received by the Town Clerk, Mr G. T. O’Hara Smith from the headquarters of the guild, in acknowledgement of receipt of three cases of clothing forwarded from Masterton as the first contribution from the recent clothes drives. The fact that all the clothes were clean, mended and ready to send overseas the letter stated, made the work of the organisation in Wellington very simple. Four more cases of clothes are ready to be despatched from Masterton and probably another five will be made up later.
