PADDY’S MARKET
FOR LOCAL RED CROSS FUNDS. Arrangements for the Paddy's Market in aid of the local Red Cross funds are almost complete and everyone attending can be assured of interest. The business people have been wonderfully generous with donations for the Surprise Packets for the Savage Club’s drive. Those have also been augmcn-J--ed by a further flow of private dona? ticns. Those intending to be present on Friday night are reminded that, in addition to the numerous sideshows that are being provided, there will be a display by the girls of the Wairarapa Interhouse Association after the shops close. This in itself should be worth seeing as there is no charge for admission. In addition to the Primary Schools’ efforts for their own stall, the pupils will be conducting a copper trail on Friday afternoon after school in a novel way. The trail will consist of a race between school teams laying "Links of Empire" along the approach to the Municipal Hall. Each penny will buy a link which will be added to the trail and each team will endeavour to be first to make its chain reach "London" at the Market. The children are very enthusiastic and the committee anticipates that the public will support them, whole-heartedly. The committee thanks all who are so willingly giving their donations, time and services to this worthy cause, the raising of funds for the Red Cross Society’s local efforts.
