ALFREDTON TALKIES
TOMORROWS PROGRAMME. "My Bill," which is based on the famous stage play "Courage,” and which will be shown at Alfredton tomorrow, gives Kay Francis the most appealing role in her career. It is that of a woman, still young and beautiful, who has been left a widow with four children in a small town. The children are played by Bonita Granville, Anita Louise, Bobby Jordan and Dickie Moore. With the coming of hard times the mother sees her family split by the thoughtless selfishness of three of hetchildren, but is able to bear this blow with fine bravery because of the inspiring loyalty and love of her smallest son. And this little fellow eventually is able to bring the family together in happiness and prosperity as a Mother’s Day gift to the mother he was the only one to appreciate. John Litel has the role of Kay's childhood sweetheart who marries her. It is a splendid picture, while the supporting features are also good.
