REGENT THEATRE

“ANOTHER THIN MAN.” j That uproarious, mystifying and inimitable screen couple, “Mr and Mrs I Thin Man,” personified .by William Powell and Myrna Loy, in the latest adventures of a series which has taken the entire country by storm, will be finally seen at the Regent Theatre tonight in "Another Thin Man.” “BAD LITTLE ANGEL." The change of programme tomorrow will be headed by “Bad Little Angel," with Virginia ‘Weidler, Gene Reynolds, lan Hunter, Guy Kibbee and Lois Wilson in the chief roles. It is the most humane story since “Boy’s Town” and is certainly a picture that should be seen. "Bad Little Girl” features something out of the ordinary in dramas. Virginia Weidler has a part which suits her admirably, and her acting should make an immediate appeal to picturepatrons. This clever child actress has gradually ascended the ladder of fame until now she is ranked ambngst the best in Hollywood. The management express opinion that in "Bad Little Angel" she will be seen in her best role to date, surpassing her efforts in "The Women” and “Out West with the Hardy’s.” The picture is a delightful story of youth and courage, with a strong element of comedy running I through it. The supporting artists have parts which make the picture one that is well worth seeing. Intimate glimpses of family life provide natural comedy such as is seen in the “Judge Hardy” pictures, and poignant, dramatic moments include the orphanage sequence, the child’s prayer for guidance when she feels that she brings bad fortune to all who come near her. and her dramatic plea to the town millionaire to save the position of her fos-ter-father. Antiques gathered from all over - the country went into the quaint old sets representing homes, offices, a town street and park of the early nineties.

A strong supporting programme will also be shown. The supports include an Australian scenic, another Lowell Thomas travelogue “Going Places,” a further “Stranger Than Fiction” number, and the latest Overseas News, giving actual shots of the German bombing raids. The plans are at -Nimmo’s and the theatre.
