An Air Ministry communique states that an enemy bomber was shot down off the north-east coast of Scotland, shortly after noon today, by R.A.F. fighters. AUXILIARY YACHT SUNK BY ENEMY AIR ATTACK. An Admiralty communique states that the auxiliary patrol yacht Gulzar was sunk yesterday as the result of enemy air attack. There was no loss of life. DENIAL & CLAIMS GERMAN STORY OF DOVER BATTLE. (Received This Day. 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, July 30. A German communique asserts: “We only lost three planes at Dover yesterday,” and claims that the Germans have shot down 12 Spitfires, three Hurricanes and sank four vessels, totalling 32,000 tons. The communique adds: “In another engagement aircraft sank a cruiser and a merchantman and damaged another merchantman.”
