WAIRARAPA TEAM VISITS WANGANUI VISITORS WIN IN CLOSE CONTEST. MATCH ON SATURDAY NIGHT. During the weekend the Wairarapa representative table tennis team visited Wanganui to play the representative team there on Saturday night. The match resulted in a wii| for Wairarapa by 31 games to 25. The players were fairly evenly matched and keen, close finishes were witnessed in many of the games. The Wairarapa team was as follows: Mrs J. Nicholls, Misses N. Brown. J. Larsen and V. Ward. Messrs J. Nicholls I. Coleman. P. Greenlees and K. Miller. The standard of play was very high throughout, particularly in the ladies’ section. The Wanganui men on a whole were much better in their individual play than Wairarapa. Combination proved a deciding factor ip the combined doubles. The Wairarapa team was: extended a warm welcome to the citj by the president of the Wanganui Table Tennis Association and the manage: of the Wairarapa team (Mr M. G. Wing) responded.
