SOUTH FEATHERSTON
ENJOYABLE CONCERT WAR SERVICE MEN’S FUND. ("Times-Age” Special.) The concert held in the South Featherston Hall in aid of the fund for war service men was well patronised. It was organised by Mr Thorne. Miss Tocker was the pianist. The principal items were as follows: —Opening choruses by company; recitation, Betty Barnes; sketch, “Oh Sisters”; short play, “A Dog’s Life,” N. Tocker and R. Barnard; songs by the school children; short- play, “The Truant”; humorous items, H. Graham; dance of the Wood Nymphs; short play, “Jake’s Ghost”; Zara, the magician; sketch, “Before and Aftei' Marriage”; sketch, “Hard Luck”; “Madam Mystery,” J. Saba. Dance and Euchre Party. There was a good attendance at the dance and euchre party held on Thursday night. The music was supplied by M. Matthews. Extras were played by Mr Boyd. 'The Monte Carlo waltz competitions were won by Mr Foss and partner, and Mr Viles and Miss Leighton. Mr Graham carried out the duties of M.C. A waltzing competition was won by Mr and Mrs Barnard. Mr G. Hyland and Mr C. Buck were the judges. The winners in the card tournament were: Ladies, Mrs F. O’Neale 1, Mrs Baker 2. Men: Mr Perry 1, Mr Rae 2.
