Easy Win for Tigreterre. Tigreterre was the best of good bets in the Hunt Cup Steeplechase at the Rangitikei Hunt Club's meeting on Saturday;. He joined Blue Steel in the lead on the last round, drew right away before reaching the last fence, and won unextended by 20 lengths. Except for putting in a short one at the last fence. Tigreterre jumped perfectly. It was easily his best exhibition to date. Blue Steel ran an improved race, but was still not quite forward enough to see it right out. He should not be long in winning a race. Lady Callaghan made up a lot of ground on the last circuit to finish third, and Nino Martini was always prominent to finish fourth. Royal King tired on the last round. Harbour Bar. very soft in condition, was pulled up. and Padnos lost his rider two fences from home. Lady Briar jumped well in the lead for a mile, but then tired. Hirangi's performance was very moderate, and on this form he could have little chance in his Riccarton engagements. RACING FIXTURES August 3 —Christchurch Hunt. August 13, 15, 17-C.J.C.
