ITALIAN LOSSES
IN AIR BATTLE OFF LIBYA FIVE MACHINES SHOT DOWN. OTHERS BOMBED ON GROUND. The Italians lost five fighters in an air battle off Libya, Daventry reports. The R.A.F. carried out a highly successful raid on the Libyan coast and bombed fifty enemy fighters on the ground. A patrol of Gladiators accompanying the bombers met several enemy" fighters and shot down five into the sea. All the British machines returned.
