HUGE ADDITIONAL OUTPUT PLANNED IN UNITED STATES. ANNOUNCEMENT BY LORD BEAVERBROOK. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 12.40 p.m.) LONDON. July 24. Lord Beaverbrook. Minister for Aircraft Production, broadcasting, disclosed that Mr H. Morgenthau (United States Secretary to the Treasury) had informed the Canadian Aircraft Minister that the United States was immediately entering on the production of a ultimate maximum of three thousand planes monthly for Britain. This is additional to the present American programme for Britain. Referring to the' 12,115 American aeroplane engines purchased since the Ministry’s formation. Lord Beaverbrook said these engines were powerful and modern, of a type tested in many, long journeys across the American Continent.
